About Dr. Stephanie Bissiere
Behavioral Neuroscience Specialist
Dr. Stephanie Bissiere is a Behavioral Neuroscientist, Anxiety Specialist, Educator, and Founder of NeuroForward®, a neuroscience-informed practice dedicated to helping individuals, parents, and families build resilience, create meaningful change, and thrive.
Throughout her distinguished scientific career, she has conducted research at some of the world’s leading institutions, including the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in Melbourne, Australia, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore, and the University of Pennsylvania, where she currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
Having lived and worked in seven countries and speaking English, French, and Spanish fluently, Dr. Bissiere brings a unique global perspective to understanding human behavior, adaptation, and resilience across cultures. Dr. Bissiere has published in some of the most prestigious scientific journal including Nature, Science, Cell, and Nature Neuroscience.
For years, her research focused on understanding how the brain learns from experience, adapts to challenge, regulates emotion, and shapes behavior. Her work has contributed to advancing scientific knowledge of the biological systems that influence resilience, fear, learning, motivation, and adaptation.
Yet despite extraordinary advances in neuroscience, Dr. Bissiere recognized that much of this knowledge remained confined to academic journals and research laboratories. The individuals and families who could benefit most from these discoveries often lacked access to practical, evidence-informed guidance grounded in the science of human behavior.
Her commitment to this work is also deeply personal.
While living abroad without family support, Dr. Bissiere faced a series of profound life challenges, including major surgery and a frightening health crisis involving her daughter. This experience triggered severe anxiety and exposed her firsthand to the powerful effects of the brain’s threat-detection systems she found herself paralysed by stress and anxiety:
“I knew the neuroscience”
“ I understood the brain”
“ I understood stress physiology”
Yet, what ultimately helped her move forward was combining scientific knowledge with practical behavioural changes, and teachings from Eastern philosophies. From this emerged an even deeper appreciation for resilience, recovery, and human potential.
That experience revealed an important truth:
“Knowledge becomes transformative only when it is applied”
NeuroForward was born from that realization.

THE NEUROFORWARD JOURNEY
A Global Journey, A Brain Based Approach
NeuroForward is the result of a global journey shaped by science, research, and a passion for helping people thrive. Founded by Stephanie Bissiere, the practice brings together decades of experience across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia.
From France to London, Basel, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Singapore, and Philadelphia, each step of Stephanie’s journey contributed to a deeper understanding of how the brain influences behavior, resilience, and well-being.
Today, NeuroForward combines applied behavioral neuroscience, mindfulness, and evidence-based strategies to help individuals and families understand their brains, change limiting patterns, and build healthier behaviors that lead to lasting growth and meaningful change.
Understand the Brain. Change Behavior. Move Forward.
